About Thea Meulenberg Casting

Founded in 1980 by casting director Thea Meulenberg, Thea Meulenberg Casting is a family-run commercial casting agency based in Amsterdam, working with production companies, advertising agencies, photographers and brands in the Netherlands and internationally.

Before founding the agency, Thea worked as a model herself. Her experience in front of the camera gave her valuable insight into talent, performance and the importance of finding the right people for every production. She built Thea Meulenberg Casting into an established casting partner with a strong focus on personal attention and quality.

Since 2018, her son Laurens Meulenberg and daughter-in-law Sevina Stapert-Meulenberg have continued the family business, combining their different backgrounds and experience within the commercial film, photography and advertising industries.

Laurens grew up within the family business and worked as a teenage model before gaining experience behind the scenes at his mother’s casting agencies. He later became a camera operator and has more than 25 years of experience, primarily on commercial productions. His background gives him a practical understanding of performance, production and what works on camera and on set.

Sevina brings extensive experience in advertising, marketing and communications. Her international background, project management experience and work on film and photography productions worldwide give her a strong understanding of creative briefs and the needs of brands, agencies and production teams.

Her interest in people and diversity, combined with a strong eye for detail, brings a personal and thoughtful approach to casting.

Together, Laurens and Sevina combine casting expertise with first-hand experience in commercial production, advertising and communications, continuing the foundation established by Thea.

Since 1980, Thea Meulenberg Casting has been built on personal relationships, industry experience and a close connection with the people we work with.
